No.07　侘しさに　薪をくべたき　夕べかな

母が亡くなった夜、ストーブに薪をくべていた兄の背中がとても小さく、侘しく見えました。
彼は部屋を暖めるために薪をくべているのではなく、自分の侘しさを紛らわせるために薪をくべていたのでしょう。

On the night my mother died, my brother ‘s back which had firewood on the stove looked very small and loneliness.
He might not have put firewood to warm the room, but he would have put firewood to distract his loneliness.
